This course for advanced learners presents more challenging aspects of the English language, with content at the C1.1 level of the CEFR. By covering the grammar and vocabulary needed to discuss events in the past and present as well as speculate and make predictions about the future, the course gives learners the opportunity to start using the language straight away. Learners also see how to give detailed descriptions, make complex comparisons and use a range of techniques to add extra emphasis to their speaking and writing. Learners participate in role-play and conversation activities which encourage them to use the language spontaneously and meaningfully. The writing and speaking assignments that follow offer the chance to use the language in a range of situations. The student needs to follow the instructions to create short written and spoken texts which allow them to reuse the new language independently.
