In this course students wi l continue to be focused on increasing vocabulary with intermediate terms. As with the previous block, there is frequent pronunciation and picture association of vocabulary terms to reinforce learning. Realistic dialogues, error detection and correction, an assignment sent to a tutor and freeform speaking encourages student to use vocabulary and express themselves.

Unit Overview

In this unit, students will continue to expand their vocabulary with intermediate insurance-related terms. The unit emphasizes frequent pronunciation practice and picture association to reinforce vocabulary learning. Activities include realistic dialogues, error detection and correction, assignments sent to a tutor, and freeform speaking exercises to encourage students to use new vocabulary and express themselves confidently.

Insurance Vocabulary

The second part of the course introduces more intermediate vocabulary within the context of insurance. Key terms include:

  • Compensation
  • Death benefit
  • Stop loss
  • Elimination period

These terms are presented through both written and spoken exercises to help solidify understanding. Vocabulary meanings and example sentences are provided to enhance learning.

Typical Situation: Two Friends Talking About Car Insurance

Students will listen to or read a realistic dialogue between two friends discussing car insurance. This exercise helps students practice their listening and comprehension skills while exposing them to practical uses of insurance vocabulary.

 

Dialogue: Taking Risks and Accidents

Students will respond verbally to a series of questions related to insurance and risks. They are encouraged to use vocabulary studied in previous and current lessons, promoting active recall and language production.

Consolidation

This activity is designed to further reinforce vocabulary understanding. Through a variety of interactive methods, students will review and practice all vocabulary from the unit, continuing to develop their language skills.
