The objective of this course is to help learners of English explore the language through the context of technology and to develop a better understanding of al aspects of this lexical field. This course provides students with the necessary vocabulary to communicate about a range of situations in the world of technology. Once the course has finished, students wi l be able to understand the most common technological terms and expressions used at work, school, and other contexts. The course comprises a total of five units and the vocabulary studied through the course includes: IT basics, cybersecurity, programming, network, and digital marketing. A wide variety of exercises are used throughout to present the target language; words, texts, word searches, crosswords, flashcards, etc. to provide a stimulating, interactive and authentic context for language learning. In most cases, the learner is prompted to practise and produce the target language during the same lesson and to complete practice exercises on the topic. Pronunciation is dealt with through interactive exercises to present correct examples and encourage the student to identify the words in context. There are speaking and writing assignments where the students wi l write or record their response to tasks related to the themes covered. There is a short test at the end of each unit. There are also role-plays covering some of the topics explored in the course, providing an opportunity for free practice.
